Cox under the direct supervision of Oscar K. Merritt, Jr. RLS #2476. Together with improvements located thereon; said property being located at 4276 Siloam Road, Dobson, North Carolina. The above described land is a portion of Tract I of the property conveyed by W.C. Moser and wife, Barbara Lou Moser, et als. in February 1979 and recorded in Deed Book 337, Page 216, Surry County Registry. A private corporation proposes to expand an existing operation in Mount Airy valued by direct investment of $2,650,000 and to create 14 full-time (or full time equivalent) jobs. The incentive grant being studied includes the following incentives to this company: • Incentive—approximately $38,000 paid over a five-year period;• Incentive--$800 for each qualified job created: $11,200TOTAL INCENTIVE FROM THE CITY: $49,200 The amount of the incentive is based upon the ad valorem tax revenues that the City anticipates receiving from the project, as well as the anticipation that the company will stimulate and diversify the local economy, promote business, and provide employment opportunities. NOTICE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Mount Airy Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 7:30 pm during a Regular Meeting in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building to hear public comment and consideration of amending an agreement for incentives to an existing company. A private corporation proposes to expand its existing manufacturing operation in Mount Airy, thereby creating 75 new full-time jobs in the City by March 31, 2015. The Board of Commissioners would like to hear public comment regarding the amendment of an agreement between the City of Mount Airy and "Project Boston" for the City to provide additional incentives of $56,250. The proposed incentive is being considered to induce the company to retain and expand its workforce in the City. If successful, the proposed incentive will stimulate and diversify the local economy, promote business, and provide significant employment opportunities.
